There are many types of systemic barriers as mentioned on the "Big View" page.

In our community, one of the systemic barriers
that holds people back from having enough resources,
and therefore, keeps people from reaching self-sufficiency is...
a lack of positive relationships and support systems

To correct this, opportunities are given:

~ for Allies and the community to learn first-hand about poverty

~ for Circle Leaders to share personal experiences and viewpoints on socials issues that are valued by the community. This builds their confidence and self-esteem , but also engages community leaders and

change-agents, which builds and strengthens the overall community

~ for everyone to learn about the "cliff effect" which discourages hard working families from financially moving ahead
